This is a 4-day training and exam preparation program that prepares students to sit for the Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) and Critical Care Paramedic Certification (CCP-C) exams created by the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC). This course is designed specifically to teach critical care concepts in an easy to understand format. Although intended for paramedics and nurses, the course is open to anyone, although the course will not address concepts below the level of a paramedic.
The instructors and staff have a first-time pass rate over 80% and an overall pass rate greater than 95%, compared to the national average of 62%. This is accomplished using relevant and to the point instruction. Our course provides insight and clarity to complex critical care medical concepts and procedures. The training is approved for 40 hours of continuing education by the IBSC and will also apply toward the 24 “Additional Education” hours required by the NREMT. Current FP-C and CCP-C cardholders may attend this course to meet IBSC educational requirements to maintain certification as a critical care paramedic.
How are you able to maintain such high pass rates?
Simple- we stay on point and focus on helping you pass your critical care exams. During our course, you will take daily quizzes to reinforce the material covered. Also, each student will take two full-length comprehensive examinations based on the official FP-C exam blueprint.
Why is this course more expensive than others?
Simply put, the other critical care review courses out there are only two days long, ours is four. We based this on feedback we received from our students saying that even three days is not enough time to cover all the material. Rather than focusing on quantity, and rushing through the material so that we can run more courses, we think it is more important to spend a little extra time covering difficult concepts that may be new to you.
Additionally, we are the only course in the nation that uses Aeromedical Physician Assistants as some of our primary instructors. Their added training and experience means you have access to better sources.
Remember, a wise paramedic once said, “quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.”
Do you offer payment plans?
Not anymore. We found that most our students we’re paying for their course on a credit card and basically financing the course themselves. Because of this, we have chosen to focus our efforts on being the premier critical care test prep company instead of being a good bank.
Who are the instructors?
All primary instructors are Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants (PA-C) or Nationally Registered Paramedics (NRP) that are Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) with extensive backgrounds in Aeromedicine.
Does my course enrollment fee include an IBSC proctored FP-C or CCP-C exam?
No. We leave the scheduling and cost of taking the certification exam up to the student. However, we do recommend that as soon as you have registered for your course, you log on to https://www.ibscertifications.org/ to register for your exam. Testing centers can be booked out well in advance, and it's one less thing you will have to stress about.
Can I miss any lectures?
Of course, we’re not here to be your parents. We’re excited for you and want you to pass and will do our best to work with you if there are schedule conflicts. However, we cannot guarantee any make-up sessions for material covered in your absence.
Is there a minimum number of students required to run a course?
Yes. We need a minimum of 20 students to run a course
Do I need any additional materials for the course or to prepare for the exam?
No, our proprietary study guide and curriculum are all that you will need to prepare for the FP-C and CCP-C exams.
When does class start each day?
The lecture begins promptly at 9 am daily and ends no later than 6 pm. We recommend that you bring snacks with you as lunch is typically about an hour long, and is on your own.
Does this prepare RNs to take the CFRN exam?
YES. This course focuses on critical care concepts, and the instructor staff specifically details items relevant to the CFRN exam.
Is there a minimum experience required to take these exams?
The only requirement from the IBSC is that you have a state paramedic license, paramedic certification for the National Registry, at a USSOCOM ATP card. There
Are CEUs awarded for completion of the course?
Of course! Each student will receive a CEU certificate for 40 hours of critical care education that is approved for continuing education by the IBSC. You can also apply these hours to your Paramedic recertification through the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT).
Is this an “approved” review course by the IBSC?
Yes. We have been an authorized review course for over four years, and have taught hundreds of students. Ask someone who has been to our courses- they enjoyed it!
